I went looking for something to help my clients. It found me first.

- 2015
Psychiatric rehabilitation with kids
Four years in a Medicaid program for children. Nearly every child carried an ADHD label; very few were recognized as experiencing symptoms of trauma. Their stories held different levels of hardship and traumatic experience. This led me to begin questioning the diagnostic model.
- 2018
5 years counseling in the prison system
Some people carried multiple diagnoses and experienced polypharmacy without meaningful symptom relief. Others did not resonate with their diagnoses or believe the medications were helping. I began understanding trauma analytically while witnessing the deep systemic issues embedded in both the carceral system and the mental health industrial complex.
- 2023
Baltimore, and a wall
In private practice, my clients could explain their patterns beautifully, yet insight alone was not creating the shifts they were seeking. I could feel the edge of what talk therapy could reach. I began looking for something that could access the places words could not.
- 2023
Reiki, on Zoom, with a sock monkey
During a Reiki II training, I practiced virtually with a stranger in another state and sensed her loved one in spirit. I felt completely overwhelmed and intrigued. A spiritual awakening that challenged everything I understood about evidence-based practice.
- 2023–2024
Training in what I could not analytically explain
After an intensive 18-month energy healing program, I continued finding transformative healing in alternative and multicultural spaces. I wanted others to have access to that care, but kept seeing clinical, somatic, energetic, cultural, and spiritual approaches treated as separate.

Building the bridge
It was clear that healing needed to include both body and energy. That insight shaped my coaching, Biofield Integration & Attunement, and Roots of Her—helping women reconnect with their bodies and intuition while building a bridge between ways of healing that were never meant to be severed.
Some of what I carry is not mine. It belongs to a long line of women who never got to grieve. Learning to sit with my own is how I learned to sit with yours.
